POST: Streetwork – Detached Youth Workers
RESPONSIBLE TO: Line Manager
SALARY £9-11 depending on qualifications and experience
EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS: No qualifications are required although experience of detached youth work delivery would be expected.
Are you passionate about engaging with young people in their spaces and places? Granton Youth Centre are looking for highly motivated and creative Detached Youth Workers, on a sessional basis, to join the North Edinburgh Streetwork Team. This is a challenging but rewarding post, working throughout North Edinburgh. The organisation is keen to recruit the right person to join this experienced and dynamic staff team. Experience of engaging with young people in a community setting is essential, street-work/detached youth work experience would be an advantage and a full driving license is desirable.
Youth workers with experience of delivering detached youth work are required to work as part of a small team to deliver 3-5 sessions of detached youth work weekly in North Edinburgh. Engagements focus on harm reduction around alcohol, substance use and risk-taking behaviour.
