Mixtape member Laurent releases her first record today in the form of their debut EP “Modern Myths”
Kat Caballero- Rennie – or in her own words the artist also unknown as Laurent – began making music at the very first Mixtape session when she was just 15 and sang a song about Face Paint over a zoom call (remember those) – turning the instructions no one reads on the packaging into her first song “Hunting Season”. Two years later and with a more honed and polished sound, she’s ready to announce herself to anyone willing to listen. With influences ranging from Sigrid and Mother Mother, to her local heroes Vistas – her slick electro pop and introspective lyrics, which she says are open for people to interpret as they like, belay her tender years.
